ABOUT ARWI:

ARWI is the largest event in Puerto Rico promoting the different expressive manifestations of art such as paintings, sculptures, graphical arts, videoart, photography, installations, among others. Itís a designated space of confluence in which diverse agents of the present art scenario take part to interact at different levels: students, artists, critics, collectors, art curators and general public.

From October 10-12, 2008, we will have created a movement inside and outside the fair, that will unite and create a cultural partnership between the small and large art organizations, with the purpose of obtaining a collective effort of promoting the line of thought that with art, not only does the mind gets enriched, but also the economy.

ARWI closed itís 2nd edition with a 100% increase in sales and attendance. ARWI's success validates the idea of filling an important space in the puertorican classical and contemporary arts market in which certain visitors, galleries, collectors and artists were not being taken care of.

ARWI's proposal is oriented not only to create a fair of commercial compensation, but also a level of investigation, the presentation of a catalog, diffusion and divulgation of art, all of which are an essential part of understanding and growth of any artistic expression. The exhibition will be presented in the Puerto Rico Convention Center, the largest and most technological center of Latin America and the Caribbean, located in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The exhibition will take place in 71,000 square feet (6,624 square meters) which offers a truly plural space for artistic samples with international projection.

ARWIíS main objective is to promote new collectors and collections in order to intensify the art market and support the creation of a cultural patrimony. Because of this, the fair has taken the challenge of approaching organizations that support cultural projects. We have made several agreements with different private corporations and institutions that will be reflected in original, creative and excellent activities. One of the sectors that have been invited is the Wine Distributors sector. The fair counts with more than 10 wine pavillions. This is an attractive for new art lovers that correspond to the population of wine collectors and vice versa. These wine pavilions will present the best international wine cellars to the visitor, as it usually happens in galleries and exhibitions opening nights. Art and wine is the perfect marriage for those to whom pleasure is a vocation. Part of the fairís characteristics is to promote a hedonistic lifestyle as something deserved daily.
